Lesson #1: Do NOT ever wear heels when commuting to work...especially if you live in DC and work at a Huge Facility! I'm just going to share with you my first experience with heels on the metro. (Please be advised, this story contains graphic content)! I understand that DC is a walking district, and I had only two reasons for wearing heels on the first day to get my picture taken. 1. I wanted to see just how bad it was going to be if I wore heels to and from work, just so I could see if the advice was true. 2. I have a really nice pair of black Express Editor pants and I have to wear them with heels because they're long....anyway.
My feet were good for a while, but after three different metro stops and walking around my internship site, I realized very quickly that even my most comfortable heels was not even close to being comfortable enough. Problem. As my two friends and I struggled home, I kept kicking myself (mentally) and could not wait to take my shoes off. Well, It just so happens I had some crazy blisters, and I had a small cut on my toe that had started bleeding because of the constant pressure from walking around!!! Lesson Learned. Ladies and Gentleman I will be wearing flats for the rest of my life...lesson learned.
Other than that, a few friends and I (Yes, I am making friends lol) decided to go out and walk around D.C yesterday. There are so many free things to do around the city! They had a Jazz festival in the park. Apparently, it is every week during the summer and it was Packed! So we went to the National Zoo...I made a friend :)
