I just missed the shuttle that leaves from my apt. and goes to the Metro. I was literally five feet from behind it, literally running toward it and it just drove away...now normally I would never bother sharing a story like this, had the driver of the shuttle not made eye contact with me as I was furiously waving and yelling WAIT! STOP!, and decided to continue driving (in fact, it sounded like he actually revved the engine a little more than usual), then this story would not have been told.
Story of my life.
It has been roughly a week and a half since my last blog, and I have decided that it is because I have become busy with the random and crazy and rewarding events of Life in D.C! But I know that is NO excuse, and I have far to many stories that need to be shared...so here we go! (This may be a long one, I have to catch up for all this time lost).
So, two days ago, it was EXTREMelY hot! It reminded me of FL, yeah, THAT kind of hot. After the thirty minute commute from work, I was somehow persuaded to go running with two of my coworkers. Just to give you an idea, while waiting in the waiting room, the temperature climbed from 94 to 98. Long story short, I sprinted/ speed walked 5 miles...and so what if my head was pounding, and my feet were hurting? So what if my legs felt like they had literally endured a beating...I started and finished! Thanks to a friend named Summer!!! (Shout out)!
So I am standing up on the metro, and typing on this very blog to you! Could mean a very entertaining story for you, or a sad and slightly embarrassing story for me...uh oh, I feel my hand slipping. This could be bad...
So I know all of you are thinking it, and some of you have already asked lol! The latter shall remain anonymous ;) But, yes! There are many many handsome men here in D.C! My friend and I were talking about how this was appropriately nicknamed "Chocolate City." And I feel like the Pentagon is ground Zero for them...(Random fact about Anastasia - men in uniform. Yes please!).
On a more realistic note - my work schedule is amazing! I work 4 days a week!!! Woot woot! Which means 4 outfits a week!!! Which means flats roughly three days a week!!! Woot woot!!! Life is good!
I have had my fare share of metro journeys thus far...always some weird people you sit near. Or the occasional man (or woman) that for one reason or another decide to fixate their tired gaze on one spot - which so frequently seems to be my face. Awkward. I am happy to say that this entire blog has been typed on my amazing blackberry...it makes it less awkward when you have something to look busy with when your on the metro.
Let me know if you have any questions that I can answer in my next blog :) This is fun!
YES! YOU WENT RUNNING! I AM SO PROUD. I can't even tell you. I feel like a proud parent who's kid just learning to potty in the TOILET and not their pants.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is there a man? Anastasia..I will find you and hunt the answer out of you...
Hannah! I just read this comment five years later! It is hilarious and also - there was certainly no man lol
